Ríthe Mhagh Loirg

Ón Vicipéid, an chiclipéid shaor.

Géag Síol Muireadaigh ba ea Ríthe Mhagh Loirg. Deartháir Chonchúir mhic Thaidhg, rí Chonnacht 967–973, ba ea a sinsear, Maolruanaidh Mór mac Taidhg. Roimhe sin, bhíodh Clann Mhic Riabhaigh i gceannas sa cheantar.

Is dóigh go raibh beart éigin déanta ag Maolruanaidh, go mbeadh sé ina rí Magh Loirg, in ionad na clainne Mhic Riabhaigh a bhí ann ó dhúchas, mar chúiteamh ar aon éileamh ar ríogacht an chúige. Clann Mhaolruanaí, níos deireanaí Mhic Dhiarmada, ba ea a mhuintir. Glaodh Mhic Dhiarmada Rua ar géag níos deireanaí den chlann.

Seo a leanas liosta de ríthe Mhagh Loirg, agus ansin tiarnaí agus cinn na fine go dtí an lá atá inniu ann.
