Ón Vicipéid, an chiclipéid shaor.

Excuse the English, but: I would disagree that most early Irish literature derives from the oral tradition. WHile some of the stories behind them may have oral roots, key texts and collections such as the Tain, the Metrical and Prose Dindshenchas, Lebor Gabala Erren, Acallamh na Senórach and other bardic texts are highly literary. There's a good series of articles on Irish literature and mythology on en. that maybe we could draw on? Filiocht 08:14, 26 Aug 2004 (UTC)
