B'fhearr liom dá staonfá ó bheith ag úthairt leis an Vicipéid Gaeilge gan aird a thabhairt ar na comhairlí ar chinn muid orthu in éineacht. Shocraigh muid le chéile cén téarma ab fhearr a úsáid mar aistriúchán ar "Scots", agus b'é an dóigh ar shocraigh muid é go mbainfimis úsáid as an téarma "Albainis" mar Ghaelú ar "Scots" agus "Béarla na hAlban" mar Ghaelú ar Scottish Standard English. Tá mé den tuairim gur drochrud amach is amach a rinne tú nuair a d'athraigh tú an leathanach beag beann ar an gcinneadh a rinne muid in éineacht.

Agus ná tabhair "Gaelic" ar Ghaeilge na hÉireann. "Irish" atá uirthi. Panu Petteri Höglund 18:13, 24 Samhain 2007 (UTC)[reply]

By the way: "Béarla" is masculine in Irish, not feminine. And who are you to suggest that "Albainis" is not commonly used? You should read Comhar, or the other Irish-language publications for a change. In Irish the expression Béarla Gallda does not sound like an unambiguous term for "Scots", it sounds like a disparaging name for English.

Does your lairdship allow us to use such a word as múinteoir for teacher, or is it the hallowed will of your lairdship that we use tidsear instead, múinteoir being an ugly neologism?Panu Petteri Höglund 19:09, 24 Samhain 2007 (UTC)[reply]
