English: Maeve's Grave Atop Knocknarea is this huge unexcavated cairn (10m high and 55m in diameter). It probably covers a passage tomb and was built by the Neolithic people around 3000 BC. Around it are a number of small tombs like the one in the foreground. Legend has grown around it being the resting place of Maeve, the Iron Age queen of Connacht - unfortunately she is relatively modern!
