Ríocht stairiúil i n-iardheisceart na hÉireann ab ea Deasmhumha nó Deasmhumhain. Bunaíodh sa bhliain 1118 í ag rí Tadhg Mac Cárthaigh, when the Treaty of Glanmire formally divided Ríocht na Mumhan into Deasmhumha agus Tuadhmhumha. It comprised all of what is now Contae Chorcaí and most of Contae Chiarraí. Desmond was ruled by the Mic Cárthaigh dynasty. Other clans within the kingdom included the Uí Shuilleabháin agus Uí Dhonnabháin.
