William Butler Yeats (1865-1939) was an Irish poet and playwright and is often considered a key figure of British poetry. His works include The Tower (1928) and The Winding Stair and Other Poems (1929). In 1923 he was the first Irish person to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature.
Ian Pirie MacDonald (1867-1942) was an American portrait photographer. He photographed over 70,000 people in his career including international heads of state, religious leaders and artists.
